This means, these areas do not receive much of monsoon showers, and thus, they do not get much affected. In other words, you may not come across much of water crossings in these areas.
In case, you are planning your trip via Srinagar-Leh Highway, you can expect the same beyond Zoji La Pass on your way to Leh. Thus, you can expect a quite a smooth journey after crossing Zoji La Pass.
Cloudbursts, landslides and flash floods are another important factor to note about Ladakh weather in August. Since last couple of years, there has been reports of regular landslides, cloudbursts, and flash floods in Ladakh. Call it the side effects of global warming, and you won’t be wrong. Hence, you need to be a bit careful while driving or riding to Ladakh region in August.
